What can I expect to cover during my 8-week course?
This course is designed for wheel throwers with some experience.
The structure is loose, with throwing demos given by the instructor as and when requested by the group.
Please note that most work will not be kept. Participants must be able to cultivate a mild nihilism as regards the pots they make.
Students will be limited to keeping 8-10 pieces from the course. Students should be prepared to approach the course as an opportunity to improve their throwing, not to make dinner sets.
Each class will start with a demonstration on various throwing and turning techniques.
All classes will end with 20 minutes of cleaning to leave the studio ready for the next users. Cleaning up is part the of the 2.5 hours.
Please ensure you are able to attend as many days of the scheduled course as possible before you sign up. We expect the classes to be at capacity so are unable to move people between them. Check your calendar; missed classes cannot be made up.
We are unable to run waiting lists and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The courses often sell out quickly, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
