Thunnus UK: two years of bluefin tuna research off the United Kingdom
Date and time
An evening event to update and share results from two years of the Thunnus UK project: electronic tagging, sightings and bycatch.
About this event
We have now finished our research activities on Atlantic bluefin tuna for 2019. It’s been a productive and busy year and we’ve built on the foundations laid in 2018. The data we’ve received from tags, from sightings and from observations have continued to provide unique insights into the Atlantic bluefin tuna that are present in waters off England, Wales and Scotland. It wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of the many people involved and we'd like to say a huge thank you to all who have contributed over the course of programme.
To share some of the knowledge that has been built up, and to give you a chance to share your views and observations, we’d like to invite you to a Thunnus UK event on the evening of the 16th January 2019 at Mylor Yacht Club, Cornwall. Project staff and Defra will share findings from the Thunnus UK programme, including results from the electronic tagging programme and the sightings and bycatch scheme. The event is free and all are welcome, but in order to plan for the event we politely request you book a (free) ticket on this Eventbrite page.
We will provide finger-food and drinks will be available to purchase from the bar.
We look forward to seeing you in 2020.
