What better way to enjoy the warmer evenings ahead than with a bike ride along the towpaths and quiet roads around Huddersfield?
September - Meet at 5pm at Colne Valley Leisure Centre, New Street, Slaithwaite HD7 5AB.
All sessions are free and bikes and helmets are available to borrow if you need one. Contact us on cvct.info@gmail.com to secure a loan bike. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time to allow us to adjust the bike to fit you.
Our Slaithwaite rides stay on the towpath and we ride to either Marsden or Milnsbridge. 6-8 miles in total.
Our Leeds Road rides are a mix of on-road riding and greenway and we ride to Mirfield using as much of the greenway as possible. 12-14 miles in total. These rides are postponed until the Calder Valley Greenway reopens at the end of 2025.
We have a qualified ride leaders to lead the rides and manage the traffic when we are on-road. We go at a steady pace and never leave anyone behind. As this is Kirklees, there are some slopes to get up so you will need to be able to use gears.
Some road riding is involved, so our qualified cycle instructor will be showing you how to control the traffic with road positioning and discuss priorities at junctions.
If you have any queries please contact us at cvct.info@gmail.com and we'll gladly get in touch with you.
If you are looking to learn to ride, we have sessions for complete cycling beginners on a Saturdays and Sundays. Check out our other events on https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/colne-valley-cycle-therapy-cic-31571569735
