Event description

Description

In this talk and pop-up exhibition of You+Pea’s work, explore the relationship between video games and architecture. Inspired by radical groups such as Archigram and Superstudio who question what form a future city could take, this is a unique opportunity to examine game worlds as a new form of conceptual architecture through interactive game-based works.

You+Pea is the architectural design practice of Sandra Youkhana and Luke Caspar Pearson. Their work pushes the use of videogame technologies in architectural design, exploring how games can engage new participants in the design of cities. Together Sandra and Luke established and co-run the Videogame Urbanism studio at the Bartlett School of Architecture, where they promote the use of game technologies in architectural education.

You+Pea draws inspiration from speculative architecture of the past, producing new forms of architectural practice that result in the design of virtual, interactive game spaces to provoke conversations about the real world. They have exhibited and lectured worldwide, at venues including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Somerset House, the RIBA and The Royal Academy.
