CALL TO PRAYER
Between 25th May – 4th June, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, is inviting Christians around the world to pray as one for people to know Jesus Christ through the global call to prayer ‘Thy Kingdome Come’ (www.thykingdomcome.global).
This year Winchester will be hosting one of several Beacon Events around the country on Pentecost Sunday to celebrate the end this period of prayer. This event will be an opportunity to gather together with others at all stages of life and faith to worship Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and pray that others will come to know Him. Bishop David Williams and Carla Harding (24-7 Prayer) will be hosting the event with worship led by Neil Bennetts and band.
CALL TO ACT
After 2016’s Beacon Event each participant was invited to ‘pray for five’ friends and family. As well praying, this year’s Beacon event will also highlight and commission a number of community engagement and mission initiatives. This will include the launch of Who Cares? which over 100 North Hampshire churches are committed to this summer.
