ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
SPECIAL SUBJECT: GURU RIMPOCHE – PADMASAMBHAVA
This course will explore the remarkable mahasiddha Padmasambhava (the lotus born), who stabilized the first wave of Dharma into Tibet in the 8th century. Known for his mystical and magical powers he laid the foundation for the old school Nyingma. Even today his followers still rely on his hidden treasures (termas) and the direct teaching and instructions he left behind.
Hands-on instruction will be given for drawing and painting techniques. In addition to learning about canvas making and natural colors, we will make color charts with modern paints to simplify the painting process.
Meditation, mantra recitation and prayers will make this course a unique and deep experience. The end result is not as important as the path getting there. A modest artistic talent is required. Genuine perseverance and devotion to the subject are the important qualities students should bring along.
Attending all lectures is important to gain an insight into the importance of Guru Rinpoche.
