TickTheBucket's event-ting #No.3: Welcome, Welcome One and All
This is your third instalment of BucketList awesomeness and, with the incredible words of motivation from Kevin House still ringing in our ears we hope you can make it to this one! Our goal is to bring people together to get inspired, get informed and come together to tick items off your BucketLists. So far we've brought people together to help them run marathons, start doing stand-up comedy, becoming mixologists, learn Spanish, and so much more.
At your last evening, we had a Guinness World Record-breaking skydiver, an Arctic explorer, a guy who drove to Mongolia and a jet-setting motivational speaker... it's my promise to you, to up the ante for the next one, so hold onto your seat and buy an edible hat because big things are on the way.
Already confirmed for the 1th December, you’ll hear from:
- Peter Penny - Peter summited a mountain a month for a year. Documented women's life in the slums of Delhi and in Mumbai. Filmed Cheetahs in Namibia and now is planning an expedition to an unknown Arctic. He wants you to "Find the new fear-facing you".
- Ex-Ice Maidens - In 2017 a British Army female team will cross the Antarctic landmass. The team will walk 1700km in temperatures as low as – 50°C facing wind speeds of over 60mph.Following in the footsteps of Felicity Aston MBE, an inspirational explorer who was the first woman to complete a solo crossing of Antarctica, the route will start at the bottom of the Leverett Glacier on the Ross Ice Shelf and will head up to the South Pole before heading to Hercules Inlet on the Ronne Ice Shelf; a total of nearly 1700km.
- Leo Alsved - Leo has just got back from a weekend with his friends learning how to Para-motor, that's kite surfing with an engine tide to you. Yes, I too was shocked. When he's not flying 5000ft above the Earth with his friends, he leads adventure expeditions all around the world, from skiing mountains in the Arctic Circle to sailing races around Mediterranean islands.
And we’re working on the rest - let us know if you have any suggestions for other speakers please get them involved!
For those of you that came last time, you know the drill, for those of you that are joining for the first time - this is a chance to hear from some of the most inspirational people that walk these here London streets, as well as meet others just like you - ready for their next adventure.
