Trauma-Informed Practice Training

Trauma-informed practice is an approach to care, services, and support that recognises the widespread impact of trauma on individuals. It aims to create an environment that promotes healing and reduces the risk of re-traumatisation. This approach is grounded in an understanding of how trauma affects both individuals and communities, and emphasises safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

Why are we doing what we are doing?

Resilient Bradford recognises the importance of understanding and acknowledging trauma as a crucial step in addressing the challenges faced by individuals and communities.

This training is not only designed to address trauma but also to support individuals in proactively building resilience within the community.

What will participants learn?

In this training, participants will explore:

  • A deeper understanding of adversities in both childhood and adulthood, and how to recognise trauma
  • Skills to respond effectively and contribute to positive outcomes
  • How to build resilience and understand its transformative impact on an individual’s healing journey

"Resilient Bradford" is funded by Public Health in Bradford and hosted by Bradford Trident. Our goal is to equip the Bradford workforce community with the knowledge and skills to recognise, address, and prevent trauma.
