This full-day session will build on the knowledge shared in our Tier 1: Trauma-Informed Practice courses (available both online and in-person), focusing on the following key areas:
- Adversity and Trauma: Exploring different types of adversity and trauma, their holistic impact, and the psychopathology of trauma—how it affects the mind, brain, and body.
- Impact of Trauma: Unpacking a range of trauma-related symptoms, how they might present, and the concepts of frozen development, unresolved trauma, and emotional containment.
- Resilience: Understanding how to support resilience and recovery through various approaches.
- Trauma-Informed Practice: Revisiting core principles and frameworks, and applying them within your working context—emphasising trauma-sensitive language, non-triggering behaviours, avoiding retraumatisation, and the central role of trust and relationships.
The morning will focus on theory, while the afternoon offers an interactive workshop to help you reflect on and apply tools that are relevant to your practice.
Our training is aligned with the Scottish Trauma Framework—also known as the National Trauma Transformation Programme (NTTP)—which guides all trauma programmes across West Yorkshire.
Together, let's foster social change and well-being. Join our community-led journey towards transformation, guided by a scientific and Trauma-informed approach so we can create a Trauma-informed Community that thrives.
