Event description

Description

ARTUNER and the Italian Cultural Institute’s are pleased to present the second instalment of their two-part exhibition series on the renowned Italian sculptor Pietro Consagra (1920 – 2005) from 26 September - 20 November.

The exhibition places new works by French contemporary artist Marine Hugonnier into dialogue with Consagra’s historical oeuvre, to explore how both artists challenge cultural frameworks to establish a new relationship between the viewer and their environment.

Hugonnier’s new collages from her ongoing series ‘Art For Modern Architecture’ (2004–), which questions the nature of newspaper images and the history, culture and politics that are associated with them, will be shown alongside Consagra’s radical sculptures from the 1960–80s to foster a discussion on modes of representation and points of view in the modern age.
