Event description

Description

The Office for Product Safety & Standards is the Competent Authority responsible for enforcing Timber Regulation 995/2010 in the UK. To assist businesses to comply with this legislation we will be delivering a series of regional, sector specific workshops exploring risk identification and mitigation.

The regulation requires those businesses (operators) first placing a product on the market to complete due diligence that concludes negligible risk of illegally harvested timber entering the supply chain. This includes carrying out a risk assessment and where appropriate completing mitigating measures that reduce any identified risk to negligible.

The workshops will be run in conjunction with various trade associations but membership of them is not required to attend. Monitoring organisation and other interested parties will be assisting in delivering the workshops.

Tea & coffee throughout the day & a buffet lunch will be provided, please advise if you have any dietary requirements.

Please advise if you have any accessibility issues.

No more than two attendees from each organisation may attend, this may be reduced to one where we have a high demand, likewise we may repeat some workshops early next year if we have high demand.

A laptop would be useful but not essential.

It would be useful if you could advise when booking your most commonly used species and country of origin.
