About this event

    About the event

The UK has a population health emergency – an ageing society, stalling life expectancy, poor population health, and increasing multi-morbidity should provide a burning platform for further action on prevention.

It is clear that bold action is needed to make the shift to prevention a reality. But tackling this problem is not just a job for the NHS – we cannot treat our way out of a public health crisis. Improving the nation’s health will mean using the full weight of the opportunity presented by the health mission. Beyond this, businesses, local councils, charities and communties working in partnership with those in health and care all have power to improve the health of our population.

If we are to transform the health and care service, action must now be taken, including fundamental rewiring of how money and prioritisation work in health and care, and utilising the other important shifts (moving from an analogue system to a digital one, and from care in hospitals to care in the community) working in aid of this overarching goal (for example, expanding preventive community services such as vaccination programmes, and developing and promoting technologies that help people manage their own health).

    Planned sessions include:

    • Are we valuing prevention? And are we valuing the right things?
    • How do we work together with partners to make this shift?
    • How can we make a difference – as leaders, communities and the wider workforce, including an interactive session exploring the shift towards prevention and making change happen.
    • Taking this forward – what can we learn from across the UK and NI?

Join with peers across national government, health and care, business, local government, the VCSE sector, and those working at the community and neighbourhood levels as we explore how to take bold action and shift the dial on prevention. You will have the opportunity to learn and collaborate with experts and leaders from across the health and care system and more widely through interactive workshops, panel debates and keynote talks.

    FAQs

    Can I pay by invoice?

Yes. Please select your tickets and once you're through to the registration form, you can amend the 'payment method' from credit card to 'pay by invoice' . Please note, there is a £20+VAT surcharge to cover the cost of processing invoices. This is an addition to the ticket price and will be added to your invoice. There is one invoice fee per order, not per ticket. There is no charge for paying by debit or credit card.

    What is the refund policy?

Cancellations confirmed in writing more than 14 days before the first live session will be refunded in full via the same payment method. We regret that no refund can be made after that date, however, if you contact us before the event start, we can offer a transfer of your ticket to another event taking place in the following six months. Please email us at events@kingsfund.org.uk with confirmation of your original booking to cancel or transfer your ticket. On completion of the confirmed booking the delegate and their supporting organisation are liable for the fees for the event (regardless of whether payment has been made).
