345 local businesses accrued a combined 8,000 reader votes in the Time & Leisure Food & Drink Awards 2013 – a huge increase in activity over last year’s awards.
Now the results are in... and the winners will be revealed on Monday 16 September!
- oysters with flavoured vinegars, lemon and shot glasses of Porter ale
- Ibérico de Bellota ham
- smoked salmon with capers and pea shoots
- butterflied sardine fillets served with citrus, raisin fregola
- boards of charcuterie and cheese with accompaniments
- antipasti boards with bread sacks and olive oil/balsamic vinegar
- yoghurt pannacotta, dulce de leche, apricot cantucci
As if that wasn’t enough, guests will be thoroughly spoiled with tastings from wine partner D&F Portuguese Wines, and event partners Fever-Tree, Sipsmith, PMD Tea, Kimbo Coffee, Oro Di Milano, Emilia (cheeses and breads), Paul Wayne Gregory, Zara Bara Makes (sauces) and Cupari Wines.
Up to 60 businesses will be recognised, with a Winner, a Highly Commended entrant, and three Commended entrants in each of the twelve voting categories.
The awards will be presented by local representatives from the food and drink world and selected celebrity chefs, including one of our awards’ biggest fans Antonio Carluccio, plus royal wedding chef Anton Mosimann, Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard, Saturday Kitchen and Trinity’s Adam Byatt, and Celebrity Masterchef finalist Michael Underwood with his wife, TV presenter Angellica Bell.
Guests will of course have the opportunity to stay on after the ceremony and enjoy the fabulous surroundings and continue to mingle before leaving with an event goody bag.
