Event description

Description

This course provides an in-depth introduction to TAPP, a time-limited psychotherapy for adolescents and young adults between 13-30 years. TAPP innovatively combines a psychodynamic approach with a psychosocial focus on the experiences of transitions in contemporary social contexts.

This distinctive, adolescent-centred therapy, formulates problem behaviours, states of mind, feelings and symptoms as disturbances to the adolescent developmental process. The developmental focus aims to aim to enable young people to recover the internal capacity to meet developmental challenges, and these are closely related to the experiences of young people in contemporary social and cultural contexts. The TAPP method incorporates a problem solving approach through the active participation of young people in contracting and reviewing.
