What should I bring?

A pillow for under your head; there are yoga mats and blankets at the venue. A water bottle, which you'll be able to refill from the kitchen  if needed (we will have kitchenware if you forget it). Bring a journal for the journalling exercises and to reflect on any experiences that arise.

What should I wear?

Accepted Answer

Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing you'll be happy to lie on a yoga mat in, or engage in a little movement if desired. Layers are great so that you can remove or add them as required; it's normal for our body temperatures to fluctuate during breathwork.

Question 3

What will we be doing?

I'll lead you in group discussion, journalling exercises, somatic movement and a grounding meditation, before conscious connected breathwork. I will talk you through what happens beforehand. I'll then guide you through a breathwork journey of around 50 minutes to music. We'll end with group shares.

Question 4

What is conscious connected breathwork?

This therapeutic practice uses a deep, circular, soft and slow breath pattern. It activates our parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest state), facilitates emotional release and reduces stress and anxiety. It helps us connect with our bodies, get out of our heads, relax and be more present.

What do I do after the session?

Accepted Answer

I'll talk you through the aftercare, but make sure to continue being gentle with yourself after the session. Drink lots of water and avoid overstimulation. It will also support your integration if you keep observing your emotions and physical experiences, as your mind and body continue processing.
