About this event

EVENT POSTPONED

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it is with regret that we have made the decision to postpone the launch of our new report, "Time to get it right: The state of youth court in England and Wales", due to be held in London on Wed, 25th Mar 2020.

We are in discussions with our partners, ICPR and the Nuffield Foundation, about our options both in terms of launching the report and of rescheduling the event. We will be in touch with you as our plans develop.

At this event, the Centre for Justice Innovation and the Institute for Crime & Justice Policy Research will launch the final report of their research project, which explores the state of existing practice in youth courts to assess how well they are functioning to meet the needs of children and young people

The event will be chaired by Lord Carlile and will include discussion of the key findings from the report and its policy implications, along with panel discussion with key national figures. The line-up includes:

  • Linda Logan (Magistrates Association)
  • Kate Aubrey-Johnson (Child rights and youth justice expert adviser)
  • Mark Blake (Councillor and Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Engagement, London Borough of Haringey).

In addition to the panel discussion, Reality ART will be showcasing an immersive installation, that brings to life the findings of the report and allows the voices of children and young people to be heard on this topic.

This work has been generously funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
