Having a BBQ when the weather is good is difficult to beat. It seems to be a perfect balance of food, family and friends with just a hint of something special. These days many have fancy gas burners, even pizza ovens which all add to the ease of cooking outdoors. For me though I like to go old school with charcoal. But whatever you have in terms of a cooker, getting a few friends around on a sunny afternoon is hard to beat.

Many people will associate the BBQ as an excuse for a meat feast but if you are vegetarian or are catering for someone that does not eat meat where do you start. Join me on 10th July for a virtual BBQ. I will be making some of my favorite recipes as well as giving you my best tips with all things veggie. If you are a die-hard meat eater please still come as I’m sure I will be able to give you some great ideas to extend your repertoire.

Biography:

Alex joins us from Vegetarian for Life a charity that supports older vegetarians and vegans. Alex, along with the other chefs in the team, trains chefs, catering staff, managers, carers, families and of course older vegetarians too. Previous to working for Vegetarian for Life, Alex was the Principal Tutor at The Vegetarian Society Cookery School. Alex developed recipes, trained and inspired chefs as well as home cooks in a range of culinary skills and cuisines.
