Description

Tiny and Vast: Worlds in the Sand Tray

This Blue Smile Skills in the Room session will look in depth at using Sand Trays in the therapy room. It is designed on to follow on naturally from the clay session on 30th September and will look at ways of exploring and sharing the child's inner world.

Workshop presenter: Biddy Barclay

Biddy's first profession was as a studio potter and she enjoyed giving 'clay clubs' to children in local schools. This work led Biddy to train as an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist at IATE London. A therapist for over twenty years, Biddy has recently stopped individual work but continues to offer training days in sand tray, clay and other arts. She appreciates exploring more fully some of the richness gathered from her recent training in Wild Therapy and hopes to take the ideas into work in her garden and area around her coastal Suffolk home. She is currently assistant co-ordinator and will be a participant in the first UK training in ‘Clay Field Therapy', a way of working with trauma using a shallow tray of soft clay. http://www.counselling-artstherapy-suffolk.co.uk

CPD certificates are available for this training.
