Event description

Description

As part of the series of seminars celebrating the SRUK 5th anniversary, the Northwest constituency will celebrate a day to explore the Tiny Science, the science and applications behind nanotechnology.

The future applications for nanotechnology seem only to be limited by the creativity of researchers. On the 6th of May, Professor Nazario Martín León (University Complutense of Madrid & IMDEA-Nanoscience, Spain), Professor Laura M. Lechuga (Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Spain) and Dr Verónica Sánchez Romaguera (University of Manchester, UK) will share how they are indeed using it for Ébola treatment, biosensors and Inkjet printing respectively.

During lunch time there will be public engagement activities for the non-experts to fully understand what a nanometer (that is only a billionth of a meter!) really means and the day will finish with a round table about the future of nanotechnology.

Email us for more information at northwest@sruk.org.uk. Food and drinks will be provided.
