Event description

Description

THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ONS STAFF ONLY.

When a loved one is suffering memory loss, confusion and hallucinations it can be upsetting and difficult to manage. Join me for a talk about my personal experience of this and the ways I manage it. My mum has Multiple Sclerosis which has caused lesions on her brain. This has given her episodic dementia-like symptoms including memory loss, confusion and both visual and auditory hallucinations. I have been asked many times how I manage her when she's in the grips of one of these episodes. So this talk isn't about the types of dementia, treatments available or prognosis. This is a personal discussion of practical ways to manage and hopefully improve life with this awful condition.
