This month’s TLE Seminar will take place in the new Collaborative Learning Suite (3508) to allow staff to experience how this room can facilitate collaboration using social media.
In the first half of the seminar our guest speaker, Nicola Osborne will give a talk based on social media best practice in teaching and learning. Nicola is the Digital Education Manager and Service Manager at EDINA, a JISC-designated centre for digital expertise and online service delivery at the University of Edinburgh. She has extensive experience of giving talks and presentations on ‘digital tracks and traces, social media, communicating research, and associated areas as crowdsourcing and citizen science.’Nicola has also featured on the top 50 influential HE professionals using Social Media.
In the second half of the seminar Rosemary Griffiths, Abertay University’s Social Media Officer, will focus on best practice from a marketing and promotion viewpoint, including:
- Pick your platform – looking at the various social media platforms
- Know your audience – measuring engagement with social media platforms
- Social v.s Anti-social media – social media etiquette
