This webinar will provide an opportunity to hear about two global methodology studies, as described below:

Pilot implementation of a mobile text message-based solution for randomization in clinical trials: presented by Mercy Chepkirui.

This presentation will cover the background and justification of the project, a demonstration of the applications and randomisation systems that have been developed, pilot outcomes and the next steps.

Evaluation of cultural competency in an African setting: Lessons learned for trial reporting standards: presented by Lesley-Ann Erasmus.

The Cultural Competency study evaluated the utility of, and comparability between, the Gibbs and GRIPP-2 tools to measure cultural competency when applied to a complex cluster trial conducted within an African setting, i.e. Project MIND. In this webinar we will show how we applied the two tools and compare them. We will present on the methods we followed, the results and the utility of these tools with reference to our setting. This webinar will open a discussion on cultural competency in clinical trials and the implications for trial reporting.
