Amisha Abeyawardene

Amisha (they/she) is a doula based in London that offers individualised and trauma-informed care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, prioritising the needs of queer, trans, Black and brown individuals often overlooked by the healthcare system. Partnering with Neighbourhood Doulas, Amisha ensures continuous perinatal support and childbirth education for those lacking birthing partners, including asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of domestic/sexual violence. As a Training Co-ordinator with Birthrights, Amisha delivers training to healthcare professionals, birthworkers and charities on rights-respecting care, promoting dignity and autonomy in pregnancy and childbirth.
