For centuries the due process of law has tried to make the punishment fit the crime, struggling with the death penalty and finding itself impotent to act, challenged by natural justice, or made the tool of tyranny.

From a pickpocket prostitute to a she-wolf, from domestic abuse to the trade in human corpses, all will be exposed as we visit sites within the City of London where the law has tried to grasp the slippery serpent of crime.

Meet outside Exit 1 (NOT the Cathedral exit) of St Paul’s Underground Station. The walk will take approximately 2 hours, and ends near Barbican Underground Station.
