An invitation from Seth Honnor, Artistic Director of Kaleider.
At the Devoted and Disgruntled event at Exeter Northcott Theatre in September I attended a session convened by Joe Sellman-Leava entitled Is There A Strategy For The Region? Who Is Responsible? After a long and invigorating conversation I made a commitment, not to take a responsibility for a strategy, but for Kaleider to hold a space to continue the conversation about live performance in Exeter.
The seeds for the discussion were planted whilst bouncing a beach ball to one another on the Northcott stage. So Joe, I’d like to invite you, and everyone else who’s interested in performance in Exeter and the surrounding area, to see if we can nurture those seeds by beginning to answer the question: Performance in Exeter - where are we now, and where do we want to be?
If you’re interested in helping to answer this question, come to To You To Me on 12th December from 6.00-9.00pm at Emmanuel Hall, EX4 1EJ
Maybe you came to our To You To Me event in July, maybe you’ve been to one in Bristol, or maybe this is all new to you. We run our To You To Me events in Open Space which gives everyone who comes the chance to set the agenda.
It’s totally free – and we’re so sure you’ll like it we’ll even give you your money back if you don’t.
We’ll put on some food at the end so that when we’re done talking we can eat (and talk some more). We might also throw in a few mince pies and some mulled wine. Beach balls welcome but not compulsory.
Tips on being a good person: When you book use an email address that you ACTUALLY check regularly as we’ll need to contact you about the event.
And PLEASE tell us if you change your mind and decide not to come after all – ‘cos it isn’t free for us to buy in the food – and you may think because there’s only one of you it doesn’t matter and we’ll forgive you but if everyone did it we’d be wasting loads of good food (and we’re really not that forgiving).
