Join us for a patching and quilting workshop run by textile artist Isabel Fletcher.
Working with fabric offcuts from the TOAST studio, the session begins with improvised patchwork and traditional English Paper Piecing techniques, followed by layering with batting and backing cloth, to learn quilt construction. This is the process of turning a single layer of fabric into the recognisable padded (quilted) fabric.
These techniques will transform scraps of fabric into beautiful, unique textiles to spark ideas of how patchwork and quilting can be incorporated into everyday sewing projects, decorative artworks or entirely new pieces of home furnishings and clothing.
