Sunderland City Council is currently mobilising the new contract for its Specialist Stop Smoking Service. The appointed provider for the Service will be responsible for the NHS Stop Smoking new advisor training and refresher training to all GP, Pharmacy and Community Stop Smoking providers from 1st April 2019.

In preparation for the commencement of the contract, all training will be reviewed between January and March 2019. As a result, existing training will be put on hold until this review has been completed. It is anticipated new training will begin from 01 April 2019.

NHS Stop Smoking providers who require refresher training in this period may carry on providing the NHS Stop Smoking Service as usual and will be contacted by the Council when the revised training is available. This is a 2 Day Course for new advisers which will allow them to become a trained Smoking Cessation Adviser within the Sunderland area, to attend this course your company/employer must have an up to date SLA (Service Level Agreement).

This course runs for two days and both days MUST be attended in order to practice.
