Todconnect Business Networking Meeting - May 2022
Date and time
Come & Find Out More About The Future of The Centre of Todmorden Wednesday 1st June at the Queens Hotel from 6 pm
About this event
IMPORTANT: UPDATED FRIDAY 13TH MAY @ 3 PM
I have just been informed that key speakers for this event are unlikely to be in a position to attend next week due to Covid and sickness leave. I am away the following week and therefore the new date proposed is 1st June. I hope as many of you can still attend as possible. Apologies for having to postpone this important discussion to that date.
Although next week’s event has had to be rescheduled for 1st June, in the meantime Todmorden Town Deal has asked me to reassure Todconnect members that there is no intention for ALL parking to be removed from Bramsche Square as it appeared from the most recent updates. And that they look forward to sharing with you more details and plans on the rescheduled date.
Following our last Todconnect meeting at the end of March when we heard an update on Todmorden’s £17.5M Town Investment Plan from (Town Deal Board Chair) Pam Warhurst, the Town Deal Board held a public Open Day at the Todmorden Learning Centre and Community Hub on the 23rd April.
All 10 approved projects were represented here by the organisation charged with taking that project forward.
Two particular projects – “Public Places in the Heart of Todmorden” & “Enterprise in the Heart of Todmorden” will have the most impact on the centre of the town – and have understandably been the most contentious for adjacent businesses.
We asked the sponsors of these projects if they would be happy to come and address local business owners’ concerns at our next Todconnect Business Networking Meeting and they have, to their credit, agreed to do so.
This is a chance for ALL business owners in Todmorden to hear more about these two particular projects and to air their concerns. Please do share this link with any local business owners who may not have heard about it directly.
Attendance is free (as always) but we do need to get some idea of numbers to inform the venue as we anticipate attendance could be high.
