Together Twilight Sessions is a programme of workshops and conversations with internationally renowned vocal artists and musical experts.

About this Event

Inviting audiences to delve into a wide range of vocal and musical styles, the Together Twilight Sessions workshops are designed for anyone curious to know more about the multi-faceted aspects of music, with a particular focus on singing and the voice. No prior musical experience is needed – just an enthusiasm to learn and participate.

This workshop with vocalist and choral leader Liz Swain will include vocal warm-up's and learning one of Liz's own a cappella arrangements of a popular song.

Sessions will be recorded and all attendees will receive the recording following the workshop to access any time

Artist Biography

Liz Swain is an internationally recognised solo and choral vocalist and choral director, rapidly becoming a mainstay of the UK’s burgeoning choral scene.

Originally a saxophonist with a history degree and ambitions in archaeology, Liz started singing in 2000 at a student jam session. From then on she was hooked, and went on to graduate with a MMus from the Guildhall’s renowned Jazz Department as a vocalist in 2003.

She discovered a love for choirs and group singing soon after and is an accomplished choral director, ensemble vocalist and arranger – pushing the boundaries of the British choral scene.

She is now known for her work across a range of genres including jazz, classical, pop, gospel, funk and hip hop, directing and performing at some of the world’s best-known concert halls and venues. Some of her gigs to date have included: The London and Montreux Jazz Festivals; The London A Cappella Festival; The Royal Festival Hall; BBC Radio 1; Europa Cantat Estonia; The Proms; La Scala, Milan; The Barbican; and Hackney Empire.
