About this event

Why?

We will join in peaceful community to show solidarity and concern for the potential loss of historic and cherished land in Epping Forest.

This is a gathering of hearts, we are not professional Forest Guides, Hikers or Leaders, we are simpling creating an oppportunity for people to come together and for your view to be heard.

Frequently asked questions

Is this walk open to all?

Every body is welcome to join us. The walk itself is around 7K, undulating ground. However, there is an option to walk for 10 minutes and to meet us at Debden campsite. We will gather there around a Grandmother Tree and share stories and Poems.

Is this a Free event?

There is no charge for the event. However, you will need to factor in travel costs and maybe lunch afterwards. We will invite you to join us at the Queen Victoria Pub in Theydon Bois. If you access Debeden House campsite, there is a charge payable to the Campsite which is a Day admission, £8.

What should I bring?

Comfortable walking shoes/boots. Clothing that will keep you dry and protected. A full water bottle.Something to sit on such as a blanket or a portable chair.

How long is the walk?

We are approximating the walk to be around 7K. There are some hills, tree roots and uneven ground to navigate so please be aware and prepare for this in advance. Please be responsible for your own wellbeing and ensure that you are comfortable with the distance, terrain and are prepared.

Can we bring children?

All are welcome to join us. If young children are coming with you please supervise them at all times. There is no one to supervise childern for you and they will be your responsibility.

Can we bring dogs?

All are welcome including our fury friends. Please ensure that dogs are on a lead, have plenty of water, are able to manage the distance and terrain and are happy to come! You will be responsible for your dog at all times. The pub is also dog friendly.
