Guitarist Tom Ollendorff is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents to emerge from the UK jazz scene. Combining a lyrical sensibility that elegantly makes room for space and silence, he has a rhythmic ease and a seductive sound.
A graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff, he was awarded the Yamaha Parliamentary Jazz Scholarship in 2016. His recordings have received international acclaim and helped to launch a worldwide touring career that has seen Tom perform at many of the best jazz clubs including Ronnie Scott’s, Sunset-Sunside, Jamboree, Jimmy Glass, Jazz-Hus Montmartre, Nardis, Budapest Jazz Club, Jazz in Bess, Jazz Club Ferrara as well as performances at notable venues and festivals including London Jazz Festival, Koa Jazz Festival, Brecon Jazz Festival and the One Day Jazz Festival.

Steamin' Jazz Club at the Steam and Whistle
Steamin’ is Cheltenham’s newest jazz club, hosted by a collaboration of experienced musicians from across the spectrum of jazz. It aims to offer monthly gigs, taking place at The Steam and Whistle, near Cheltenham Spa railway station.

The club is hosted at the Steam and Whistle, a beautiful Victorian pub opposite Cheltenham spa station (GL51 8NW). The pub has a purpose-built venue space that hosts a variety of music, comedy and creative arts, including Dom Joly’s monthly SpeakeaZy.
Food
The pub has quickly become known for its amazing food. Come early and enjoy the best pizza in town, and stay on for drinks after the gig.
Travel and parking
Situated close to Cheltenham spa railway station, the venue is well served by public transport. The nearest car park is at the station.
Return trains on Wednesdays:
Cheltenham to Stroud run up to 10.15pm.
Cheltenham to Bristol Temple Meads run up to 11pm.
