Description

Tomography and its applications in medical, atmospheric, and forensic imaging

Advances in theory and practice

Workshop at University of Bath, 25 October 2017

Tomography is one of the most important techniques in imaging. Originally used solely in medical imaging the technique has now become much more diverse and is used in a wide range of fields including atmospheric imaging and land mine detection. The technique is even used to study bees in situ.

From its roots in the field of X-ray imaging, tomography now includes Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) and GPS tomography.

Aimed at developers and practitioners of tomography in the UK, this workshop will cover:

  • The mathematical theory of the various forms of tomography
  • The practical implementation of tomography, and its many applications

Throughout the workshop, there will be plenty of opportunities for networking and discussions.
