Wed 22 March 2017, 18:00 – 19:30 GMT
Session type: Free 6pm prompt start
Length of Talk/Demonstration: 1.5 hours
Age: All ages
Attendees: Anyone with an interest in engineering, electronics, wood and sculpture Owl Project is a collaborative group of artists who work with wood and electronics to fuse sculpture and sound art to create electronic music making machines, interfaces and devices which intermix pre-steam and digital technologies.
Antony’s talk will illustrate elements of this journey, from simple hand held portable devices to large-scale sculptural machines and installations [such as ‘Flow’ 2012 Cultural Olympiad]. He will bring a selection of their iLogs to demonstrate.
Drawing on influences such as 70’s synthesiser culture, DIY woodworking and current digital crafts, the resulting artworks are a quirky and intriguing critique of the allure and production of technology.
Owl Project consists of Simon Blackmore, Antony Hall and Steve Symons. www.owlproject.com
