Event description

Description

Swapping air-conditioned offices for the flames of the six-metre-long grill at Neil Rankin’s temper City, some of the UK’s top food writers will be feeling the heat as Too Many Critics returns to London for its thirtieth edition on Sunday 8th July 2018.

Watch the tables turn as critics Bill Knott (FT’s How to Spend It), Adam Hyman (CODE Hospitality), Tracey MacLeod (The Independent), Joe Warwick (Where Chefs Eat) and Hugh Thompson (Delicious Magazine) tackle temper City’s live fire kitchen. Under the watchful gaze of a room full of chefs and restauranteurs, the critics will certainly be feeling the pressure as they cook up a bespoke storm for 140 guests.

As the critics sweat in the kitchen, legendary host Nigel Barden will guide guests through the evening of food, fun and fundraising with an exciting live and silent auction with the opportunity to bid on and win exclusive prizes including art, European getaways and bespoke chef masterclasses.

All funds raised on the night will go directly towards Action Against Hunger's work in nearly 50 countries worldwide. By attending this event, you will be helping Action Against Hunger's mission to see a world free from hunger, carrying out innovative, lifesaving programmes in nutrition, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene.

temper are unique BBQ restaurants with a focus on New World wine and an innovative cocktail selection. Everything is prepared in house and cooked in front of your eyes, using only wood and charcoal in huge open kitchen fire pits in the middle of the room. Renowned chef and barbecue expert Neil Rankin opened the first temper with managing director Sam Lee in Soho in 2016. Their second opening, temper City, in 2017 focuses on curry and gin, and most recently opening temper Covent Garden in May, focusing on pizza and vermouth.

Guests enjoy the fun at Too Many Critics London 2017.
