Toolkit Thursday: Case Conceptualisation in Play Therapy

This creative workshop is intended for qualified and trainee play and creative arts therapists.

We will examine case conceptualization grounded in Axline’s principles by reviewing our referral, interview, assessment, and contracting processes. We will also consider the types of decisions and actions we undertake before therapy begins with a client. We will explore why and how we can pivot an intervention and remain flexible, ready to change the initial conceptualization of a case. We will use the Play Therapy Dimensions Model to guide us through this process.

At the end of the workshop, we will have determined the steps needed for conceptualizing a case and how to be prepared to follow where the client leads.

Our workshop session will be hosted live from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. CET, where we will use our cameras and microphones to interact with each other. Participants are expected to be visible throughout the workshop.
