What’s our relationship to nature? How can local communities plus green action change the way we relate to climate? Join us in this talk to discover two fantastic initiatives that look at ways to reconnect us to our climate.

Agamemnon from Repowering London works with local communities to re-green rooftops and train stations around london as a community lead response to tackle climate change.

Climate Edge use a tech based solution to help us understand our agriculture and soils through data. Their device NEXO is a simple and robust weather station which measures the key climatic variables relevant to crop growth designed to work on farms. Talk : May 24th.

Agamemnon Otero

Agamemnon Otero is the CEO of Repowering, and Director of Brixton EnergyEnergy Garden and Clean Marine. Agamemnon is a London Leader and sits on Business Energy and Industrial Strategy’s Community Energy Contact Group and has been recognised with an MBE. Agamemnon is experienced in providing finance solutions for the energy sector including project development, management and operations. Previously he was Director for Renewable Energy Project Finance and Social Responsibility at a financial institution and CFO for a renewable energy trading company. He is currently project managing a 12.5 MW community-owned renewable energy project in London, as well as finance director for marine transport infrastructure company CleanMarine

Climate Edge

Makerversity member Climate Edge have designed a device to capture climate data on farms within developing countries.  They are using the data to help aid farmers deal with the growing pressures of climate change which is increasingly damaging their way of life.  

Host: Ed Gillespie

Ed is a lifelong sustainability provocateur, published author and popular public speaker. A trained scientist he can unpick knotty technical challenges for clients, and loves articulating ‘big ideas’. He is a serial green entrepreneur, investor in European rail ticketing business Loco2 and a London Sustainable Development Commissioner. Ed is also a Director of Greenpeace UK, carbon emissions campaigning organisation Sandbag and underground farm Zero Carbon Food.
