An amazing day out at Harrisons Rocks in Kent just an hour from London. The day will include a warm up scramble around the venue and then an opportunity to push your grades on the rock itself. This trip is for children and young people familiar with the basics (perhaps doing a NICAS course) and there will be fully qualified instructors to look after participant safety at all times, as well as giving coaching tips to improve technique. Pick up will be from Mile End Climbing Wall just a short walk from Mile End tube station in East London. Please feel free to bring your own kit although we will only let you climb if your gear is in good condition otherwise we have a selection of harnesses, helmets and ropes for use by participants. You will also need to remember to bring lunch, water, suitable clothes and your camera!
The trip includes transport, access to all techinical equipment (but not footwear), qualified climbing instructors. Participants must be 8 to 18yrs of age.
The Adventure Activity Licensing Authority have inspected our procedures, the staff qualifications and the safety measures we take and confirm that our procedures are as rigorous as they need to be for working with children. For this sort of climbing your child will be protected by a rope from above and this is regarded as one of the safer methods of rock climbing. Climbing is not entirely risk free and a full set of risk assessments can be requested using the e-mail address: firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd just like to ask that you only book if you are confident that your child is mature enough to follow simple safety instructions and physically able enough for this sort of climbing.
