Top Tips For Community Groups When Leasing Property or Negotiating Leases

Community Action:MK and Dentons are hosting a series of four talks throughout 2017 aimed at providing "Top Tips" to community groups, social enterprises, charities and other not-for-profit organisations in Milton Keynes. The talks will provide an introduction to legal issues typically faced by not-for-profit organisation can make suggestions about how such issues may be overcome.
The final talk in the series will provide "Top Tips" when leasing property. Josie Coe of Dentons will give an introduction to leasing property and offer some tips for negotiating leases or licences. In particular, Josie will discuss the topics set out below.
Dilapidations and the end of a lease.
Rent and rent review.
Break clauses and termination.
This talk is for you if you work for or are involved in the running of a community group, charity or other not-for-profit organisation that leases office or other space or is considering doing so in the future. You will also find this talk useful is you are a trustee, director, board member or committee member of a community group, charity or other not-for-profit organisation.
