Aim Of The Course
Delegates, will learn the key elements of successful applications to Trusts and Foundations in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Who Is The Course Aimed At?
The session will be aimed at anyone working within the voluntary and community sector who writes fundraising applications for their organisation.
In addition to a trust fundraising overview, the course will include a ‘Fact or Fiction’ section to dispel any myths about this area of fundraising. There will be the opportunity to audit current practices, learn more about how to use stories to communicate and move funders to give, it will also include the importance of stewardship and benefit of research and use of evidence of need.
Delegates will learn to recognise the hallmarks of a good application and understand how to get the most out of the Charity Commission web site and the annual accounts of Trust and Foundations.

About The Trainer - Marsha Miles MINSTF (Dip) Third Sector Consultant and Founder of MMC
Marsha has worked in sectors as diverse as hospitality, charity and private and therefore has a broad range of experience. She holds a Diploma of Fundraising with the Institute of Fundraising and has had over 15 years’ experience in Trust and Foundation fundraising, applying to the large foundations such as the Big Lottery Fund and smaller family foundations and local trusts. Marsha was previously CEO at South Somerset Mind and now uses her strategic experience and ability to help charities derive income from a variety of sources. An experienced trainer, Marsha has run a number of fundraising courses in Somerset over recent years.
