Tots Go Wild - Jan/Feb 2022
Event Information
About this event
Explore and get messy at Black Park!
Join us in Black Pines Camp for some fun in the woods! We have a variety of activities for your tot to go wild, including the mud kitchen, digging pit, water play, bug hunting, weaving, balancing and more.
What is Tots Go Wild all about?
Tots Go Wild is aimed at children aged 1-5 years (from when they can walk independently till they are in full-time education).
Tots Go Wild takes place on most Fridays during term time throughout the year. Morning sessions run from 10:00-11:30 and afternoon sessions run from 13:00-14:30. We stagger the release of our tickets in line with the start of each new school half-term.
There will be a themed activity each week, plus multiple other activity stations. The sessions are child-led, with the children being encouraged to choose what they would like to do to help them build on their self-esteem, confidence and independence. During October through to May we also have a fire where the tots can enjoy toasting marshmallows!
You can casually book the date(s) you'd like to attend, or block book the full half-term (six sessions) to guarantee a place each week and receive a discount.
We go ahead in all weathers - unless deemed unsafe - so please dress appropriately!
Meeting point
Black Pines Camp (behind the picnic area, Foxley Copse). Just follow the 'Tots Go Wild' signs anti-clockwise around the lake from the car park - it is about a 20 minute walk. Buggies are welcome! An example of the signs to look out for are below, as well as a map to show you the route to Black Pine's Camp from Black Park's Public Car Park (marked in yellow).
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation with the expectation of a refund or ticket transfer for a session must be made at least 7 days before the start of the booked-for session. This is to allow enough time for others on the waiting list to be given the opportunity to attend. Unfortunately, refunds are not applicable for no shows, illness (with the exception of COVID 19) or not being able to attend. A refund will be provided where someone in the household has tested positive for COVID 19 or showing symptoms and are waiting a test result. Proof of a test must be provided. Refunds will also be made in the event we cancel the session for example due to unsafe weather conditions.
What if I need to bring an older sibling?
If you need to bring an older sibling due to an inset day or childcare issues you will need to request special permission by emailing countryparks@buckinghamshire.gov.uk. This is subject to availability. Please note we don’t encourage people to bring older siblings where possible as Tots Go Wild is aimed at 1–5-year-olds only. If permission is granted you will be asked to book on and sent a link to a special ticket (£6.50 + booking fee). Please do not turn up with older siblings without asking as if we’re at capacity we might have to turn you away. This is because we need all details of children attending due health and safety and safeguarding reasons.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Aimed at 2-4 year olds but if your child is younger than 2 and can walk independently from 18 months they are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Do I need to pay for a younger sibling to attend?
Younger siblings or babies are welcome to attend without a ticket, however when they get old and enough to partake in the activities and can walk independently we would ask you too book a place.
Can an older sibling attend?
Only children aged 1-5 that are booked onto our Tots Go Wild sessions are permitted to attend Tots Go Wild at Black Park (excluding young babies in buggies). We cannot accept any older siblings / children that are not booked on. Special permission may be granted, on a one-off basis only, due to childcare issues ie: inset days, but this is at Buckinghamshire Council’s discretion
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Black Park has a Pay and Display Public Car Park located off Black Park Road (SL3 6DS). Car parking charges will always apply unless specifically stated; you can check charges on our website.
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring drinks and any snacks required for the duration of the event. We encourage you to bring your own hand sanitiser, however there will be some available in Black Pines Camp. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear - the woodlands can be very muddy and uneven. To minimise transmission of COVID-19, we will not be providing any snacks or refreshments.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Country Parks Team - countryparks@buckinghamshire.gov.uk / 01753 511060
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You can either bring your printed ticket or show your e-ticket on your mobile phone on arrival.
What changes have been made to reduce transmission of COVID-19?
A prompt exit once your session has ended is required to allow time for additional cleaning of equipment. Please bring your own refreshments. Hand gel stations will be available, however we encourage you to bring your own. Changes may be made to the running of the sessions to follow any changes in government guidance.
