Explore and get messy at Black Park!

Join us in Black Pines Camp for some fun in the woods! We have a variety of activities for your tot to go wild, including the mud kitchen, the sand pit, bug hunting, games stations, water play, weaving, balancing, crafts and more.

We are excited to share that we will also run a NEW Tuesday morning Forest School session click here for more information. Please note, for those wanting to attend more than one session a week , you are very welcome but please note the themed craft/activity will be repeated at each session that week.

What is Tots Go Wild all about?

Tots Go Wild is aimed at children aged 1-5 years (from when they can walk independently till they are in full-time education).

Tots Go Wild takes place on most Fridays during term time throughout the year. Tots Go Wild sessions run from 10:00am - 11.30am. Please note that if you ever book a Tuesday Families Go Wild Session too, this is an earlier start time than those sessions (10.30am). This term runs from Tuesday 4th June – Friday 12th July.

There will be a themed activity each week, plus multiple other activity stations. The sessions are child-led, with the children being encouraged to choose what they would like to do to help them build on their self-esteem, confidence and independence. Towards the end of the session we will gather together for summery refreshments and have a sing song! We have a campfire where possible (October to May, safety/weather dependent).

You can casually book the date(s) you'd like to attend, or block book the full half-term (6 sessions) to guarantee a place each week.

We go ahead in all weathers - unless deemed unsafe - so please dress appropriately!

Tots are also welcome to book onto our 'Families Go Wild' sessions which will take place on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons. These sessions are for Tots, Homeschoolers and children with special educational needs. This is a mixed aged group session suitable for 1-10 year olds. We stagger the release of our tickets in line with the start of each new school half-term, click here for more information.

Meeting point

Black Pines Camp (behind the picnic area, Foxley Copse). Just follow the blue and yellow butterfly signs anti-clockwise around the lake from the car park - it is about a 20 minute walk. Buggies are welcome! An example of the signs to look out for is shown below, as well as a map to show you the route to Black Pine's Camp from Black Park's Public Car Park (marked in yellow).

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This session is aimed at 1-5 year olds - as soon as they can walk independently, they are welcome. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the session.

If you have children over the age of 5 you may also want to try our 'Families Go Wild' sessions which take place on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons. This is a session for all: Tots, Homeschoolers and children with special educational needs. This is a mixed aged group session suitable for 1-10 year olds.

What if I need to bring an older sibling?

If you need to bring an older sibling due to an inset day or childcare issues you will need to request special permission by emailing countryparks@buckinghamshire.gov.uk. This is subject to availability. Please note we don’t encourage people to bring older siblings where possible, as Tots Go Wild is aimed at 1–5 year olds only. If permission is granted you will be asked to book on and sent a link to a special ticket (£7+booking fee).

Please do not turn up with older siblings without asking as if we’re at capacity we might have to turn you away. This is because we need details of all children attending, for the purposes of health & safety and safeguarding.

Do I need to pay for a younger sibling to attend?

Younger siblings or babies are welcome to attend without a ticket, however when they get old enough to partake in the activities and can walk independently, we would ask you to book them a place.

Can I bring a dog to the event?

Black Pines Camp is a 'No Dogs Allowed' area, so unfortunately dogs are not permitted to attend the event.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Black Park has a Pay and Display Public Car Park located off Black Park Road (SL3 6DS). Car parking charges will always apply unless specifically stated; you can check charges on our website.

Can I take photos?

You are very welcome to take photos and videos of the children in your care at our Forest School events. Please do not take photographs, videos or post content online that has other children (or adults) in, without asking their permission. Buckinghamshire Country Parks sometimes post images and videos of our events online, but we always ask your permission beforehand. We want attendees to feel comfortable either way, so you can specify your preferences on our order form at the point of purchase.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring drinks and any snacks required for the duration of the event. We encourage you to bring your own hand sanitiser, however there will be some available in Black Pines Camp. Please wear suitable clothing and sturdy footwear - the woodlands can be very muddy and uneven. This applies to any adults, as well as children, attending! Follow the guidance/kit list which will be sent to you in your confirmation email.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
