Harrow School’s Old Speech Room was built around 1820 as a space where boys could learn the art of public speaking. In 1976, it was converted into a gallery for the school's distinguished collection of antiquities and fine art. Those represented include George Romney, Winston Churchill, Cecil Beaton and Victor Pasmore. Curator Julia Walton will give a talk on the highlights, including the displays on Lord Byron and Admiral Sir Edward Codrington and James Gillray’s political cartoons featuring Napoleon. Lastly, there will be a guided tour of Harrow School, followed by cream tea in the dining room.
PLEASE NOTE that there are steep walks and steps in Harrow.
Includes afternoon tea.
