Currently Health Futures UTC, in April 2022 we will join Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust and become Shireland Biomedical UTC. We will also welcome our very first Year 7 students in September 2022.

Our UTC was the first University Technical College in the UK with healthcare and health sciences as its specialism. With our state-of-the-art facilities, including a simulated hospital ward, we prepare students for health-related careers in the public, private and voluntary sectors, from doctors and dentists to midwifes and paramedics. This will all take place alongside the highly successful Literacy for Life curriculum that is taught at all secondary schools within Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust.

Even though the local authority deadline for Year 7 applications has now passed, applications for the UTC remain open throughout this academic year as we are running our own admissions system for the school. We would be especially pleased to have your child in our very first Year 7 cohort.
