Description

The Tour de Manc

Tour de Manc – An epic cycle ride around Greater Manchester (100miles or 100km).

Welcome to the Tour de Manc Chas Collins Memorial edition. Our plan is to raise money for great causes, whilst you cycle around Greater Manchester, challenging yourself and seeing Manchester’s best views.

You will leave in groups of 10 riders from The Lancashire Health & Racquets Club in Heywood at 0730, after a hot drink and registration. Then you will cycle out of the venue heading South East to complete an epic anti-clockwise cycle around Greater Manchester. You have the choice of tackling a challenging 100 miles or a slightly less challenging 100km. Whichever route you take, you can expect a brilliant ride and one that you will ceratinly enjoy! Expect varied terrain as you skirt Manchester, cross Cheshire, skirt the edge of the Peak District, the slopes of the Pennines and the rolling hills of North Manchester. Expect to see some amazing scenery and hidden gems and enjoy great comradery.

Don't forget, you will need to bring your puncture repair kit, have a bike capable of the distance, wear suitable clothing and bring your own supply of energy drinks and food to get you to our first stop. We will supply free food and drink stops and we will have mechanic and medical cover just in case. It's a long day. And post ride, we will have free tea, baked goods and complementary massages to help with your weary legs….there’s one or two other surprises as well.

There will be a prize for the King & Queen of the mountain and all finishers (cut off is 1745) will receive a beautiful medal.

To celebrate the event, we are producing a Tour de Manc cycling jersey. The jersey is manufactured using hi-tech, high-quality materials and is custom designed for this specific event. The design captures the fact that this is the Chas Collins Memorial edition and there will be a very limited number of these jerseys produced. The jerseys are a great memento of your ride, will capture the spirit of Mancunian humour and has a more than a touch of class. There’s nowt like it !

When you book your ticket using the link above dont forget to add your Jersey to the basket.

Two great causes will share all the Tour de Manc proceeds: they are (1) the HaTS charity, supporting cancer patients (and their families) at The Christie Hospital’s Haematology and Transplant Unit and (2) Forever Manchester, funding and supporting thousands of community projects across Greater Manchester.

We encourage all riders to raise money for their own chosen charities through direct sponsorship.

Last years ride sold out within 2 weeks of going live, so don't delay, book your ticket today.

Great feedback from last year's ride gave an approval rating of over 87%.

We hope you can join us!
