The Tour
On arrival please report to the main reception.
The tours take place on a Wednesdays and start at 1.30pm and last approximately between 1 and 1 and a half hours. There is a maximum of 6 people per tour.
You will be given a health & safety briefing by a member of staff before the tour starts.
The tour will take place in the materials recovery facility which can be hot, dusty and noisy and involves walking up and down steps. Much of the tour is on elevated walkways above ground height.
If you have any medical conditions that may affect your visit, then please let us know. The tour is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties, pregnant females or for those with pace makers.
The tour is for people aged 18 and over.
As the MRF is a working site you will be required to wear personal protective equipment. This consists of a Hi-viz vest, safety boots, a hard hat, gloves and safety glasses. If you do not have your own equipment these can be provided.
We are following government guidance regarding Covid 19 so we may require proof of a negative lateral flow test. Masks may also be compulsory depending on guidance at the time of the tour.

Altens East Materials Recovery Facility is located in Altens industrial estate next to the coast road on the south side of Aberdeen.

The facility is at the end of Hareness Place.
There is car parking available on site. If using the car parking, please obey the onsite speed limits and reverse park your car. There is disabled parking available which is marked and is close the front door of the building.
