Join us for the SPAB Scotland AGM at the Eastgate Arts Centre in Peebles, followed by an exclusive tour od Grandison's Plaster Workshops and a visit to Traquair House.
We will start the afternoon with our short AGM to be held in the Eastgate Arts Centre in Peebles, a church converted to great acclaim by Richard Murphy Architects in 2004. SPAB are always interested to see how buildings can be reused, and we hope this will provide a talking point for members.
The small market town of Peebles is home to another hidden gem – the Grandisons Plaster Workshops, where Leonard Grandison has been hand crafting decorative mouldings in lime plaster for decades. There will be two tour groups (numbers are limited unfortunately) who will get to view the workshops and the fascinating collection of historic plaster samples and small museum, and hear Leonard talk about his work.
Finally, we have arranged an 'out of season' visit to the very fine Traquair House only a few miles from Peebles in order to view decorative plasterwork in situ.
We hope that this event will build on the great success of our previous AGM in Falkland in 2016, where we had a record turn out.
Three types of ticket will be available:
AGM Only Ticket: FREE
Full Package Ticket: £20 (AGM & Refreshments at Eastgate Arts Centre, visit to Grandisons and guided tour of Traquair House)
Grandisons Ticket: £10 (AGM & Refreshments at Eastgate Arts Centre and visit to Grandisons)
Full Package tickets are limited due to the capacity of Grandisons, so please book early to avoid disappointment!
