Frequently asked questions

Where can I park my car?

There is a car park outside the front of Entrance 13 and 14 for the maternity department, just off of Floats Road (M23 9LT). This car park can get full so there is alternative parking a short walk away in the main car park off of Southmoor Road. You will need cash as it is Pay & Display.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, you are very welcome to have someone with you, but we would limit this to one other person so that the group size is not too large.

Who will be guiding the tour?

Either a midwife or a support worker who will have lots of experience caring for people in labour on the birth centre.

How long will the tour be?

It will last approximately 30 minutes but an hour has been allocated in case you have any individual questions at the end. If appropriate, we will also try and include a visit to the labour ward so you can compare the difference between the 2 departments.
