Event description

Description

2018 is the 500th anniversary of the Royal College of Physicians, founded in 1518 by Henry VIII.

It current home - the third over the years - is a purpose-built Sir Denys Lasdun building, quite probably his best.

The college has been continuously active in improving the practice of medicine since its foundation, primarily though the accreditation of physicians. As you can imagine, over 500 years the College has built up a fine collection of historical books, portraits, medical equipment and ephemera. Our tour will cover the history, collections and architecture of this august body.

We'll also be able to take in the new exhibition: Ceaseless Motion: William Harvey's Experiments in Circulation.
