Event description

Description

Oxford Constructing Excellence invites you to a presentation and tour of Viridors Energy Recovery Facility at Ardley near Bicester.

This 24hr working site receives Oxfordshire County Councils non-recyclable waste and rather going into any landfill site, burns it, turning it into electricity which benefits the county and nation. It is a fascinating process and members who live in the County will be interested to see where their household rubbish ends up.

All in the club are welcome. As this is a working site and health and safety is a very high priority, all attendees are required to adhere with the Health and Safety procedures required by Viridor. Stout shoes are essential along with arms to be covered i.e. no short sleeve shirts or blouses. PPE (hats, gloves, high vis, eye protection), can be provided but some may prefer to bring their own – ear defenders & headsets will be provided. Please note also that Viridor require attendee names, profession and emergency contact details two weeks before the event. Accordingly the last day for Registrations for the visit will therefore be 25.08.17.

The presentation commences at 8.00am with tea & coffee provided, the visit is envisaged to take 3 hours.

Maximum numbers per group is 30 but if we exceed this number an additional date can be arranged.

This event is FREE to members and we look forward to meeting with you!
