Event description

Description

This event is aimed at gathering evidence to inform the self-directed support implementation plan for 2019-21. We are inviting:

· people who are employed in social care (eg in local authorities/ HSCP’s, in care provider organisations).

· or who work with people using social care in other roles (eg disabled people’s organisations, advice organisations, voluntary sector).

We will be consulting with people who use social care, families and unpaid carers through other strands of activity. For more information and to advise us of any dietary or accessibility requirements, please contact catriona.kennedy@gov.scot.

The current plan can be found here: https://www.gov.scot/publications/self-directed-support-strategy-2010-2020-implementation-plan-2016-2018/.

“Social care is changing. To get the care that we as a nation need and want, self-directed approaches must be at the heart of current practice and future thinking”. Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport.

There will be tea and coffee on arrival and a buffet lunch.

Directions by foot, by train and by car as well as nearest parking are available here: http://studiovenues.co.uk/venues/glasgow/map-directions/.
